5 Ways To Boost Response From Your Business Card
Printing. It's easier than you think
When it comes to making a good first impression, having a printing services professional involved will give you an eye catching business card people will want to keep. When you hand over your card to a prospect, their impression will largely be based on how well your business card carries your professional image and message. At Cariss Printing we see our fair share of business cards and here are some of the traits the better ones have in common.
1. Graphic Design - Use A Print Professional.
By working with a graphic designer, you’ll be sure that your business cards are readable and look good. This is why there is graphic design. Graphic design is a profession whose job it is to present your business and your brand in a way that is consistent with your brand. This is key to creating a strong first impression. Your designer should also be able to advise you on integrating a QR code into your business card and other print materials as seamlessly as possible.
2. Use A Standard Size Business Card.
It is assumed that when you hand out your business card to a prospect you want them to keep it… right? The first place people will look to put your business card is in their wallet. So you need your card to fit. While it can be tempting to stand out by going for something larger or using different dimensions, you’ll be placing yourself at a disadvantage if you do. In Australia, the standard dimensions for a business card are 90mm x 55mm (Unless you create business cards that fold down to those dimensions).
3. Make Your Business Cards Durable.
Once you’ve handed over a business card you need to be sure that it can survive all the abuse that it will receive in someone’s wallet. This means you need to be printing on 350gsm stock. Most business cards printed on lighter stock will fall apart well before you want it to. Another way to extend the life of your business card is to use laminate. It doesn’t cost much extra and produces a slick and professional looking finish to your business card.
4. Give Them a Reason To Keep Your Card.
Many business cards are printed single sided. You can do all sorts of things with the back of the card. You can use the back of your card as:
- A coupon or discount card for first time customers
- Double as a loyalty card: Free gift with 6th Purchase
- Provide useful relevant information. E.g. A health clinic might include CPR instructions on the back
- A way to make an offer. Such as request product literature or a free report
5. Finally, Check The Proof Thoroughly.
We can send out a proof for you to check before your business cards finally go to print. This gives you an opportunity to look at the business card with fresh eyes and pick up any mistakes. This is your last chance to make any changes, so take the opportunity to really think if you are happy with your new business card.
There you go, five ways to be sure that your business card is working as hard for you as they possibly can.
